Can I use funds from a family member or business account for purchases I made under an individual account or vice versa?

Invoices are issued in the name of the buyer of record and payments must come from a bank account in their name. Similarly, sale proceeds will be paid to a bank account in the name of the seller. This is to ensure that we have conducted the necessary KYC checks on the person or entity we are receiving funds from or we are remitting funds to.
In limited circumstances, we may consider accepting payment from a family member or your business account, but you should notify us and disclose their identity to us in advance of bidding or entering into any transaction to allow us to review your request, conduct KYC checks on that family member or business, and set them up with a Sotheby’s account.
